Miss Queen of the house Bella???? She is truly amazing!

One night we searched the site "You Tube" for talking cockateils as we thought there was no other bird like ours, well.....As Bella sat on the keyboard, there was a recording and video of one that called the cat..."Here puss puss puss puss", she mimicked that straight away!!! Also I taught her "Pop goes the Weasel" in just a day, it is really funny coz when she sings it, we all say "Good Girl", so now that is part of the tune, she adds that in herself. You really have to see her. We hide behind cereal boxes and play "Peek a Boo", and she says it, and does all the peek and hide movements. Everyone that comes here, can't beleive what they see. When we are just chatting and laughing, she starts laughing, and the louder she gets the more she laughs, and it creates a chain reaction, and you just can't stop. She kung fu's her cage door if she wants out, or if it is locked, she says, "C'mon C'mon". A true little human. She also has this fake cough thing going on, when anyone coughs, she copies.

Oh, and everytime someone comes, she says "Hello" to them, and if they happen to be wearing a wollen jumper, she goes mad so she can get on them. Also if you say "cuddles" she puts her head down for you to tickle her, and if it's not in the right place, she lets you know.....(I thought kids were demanding!!).

Charlie arrived safely and well and seems happy and settled, eating well and preening himself. He really is a beautiful bird.

Thank you for all the information, I never realised that the imported food was heat treated, so I will take extra care when I purchase my seeds so that my birds only get the best.

I will keep in touch, it is nice to know I can get advice answers to any questions I may have.

Many thanks

We have been intending to update you on our bird's progress for some time now, indeed many drafts have been discarded over the past few weeks as when we sit down to type them our little boy attacks the keyboard or gets our attention in another way..

Over the time we have had Roc, he has been a delight (and a terror but we expected that lol). He has had many experiences including baths, meeting the family dog - a elderly Samoyed, meeting my sisters dogs (two Mini Schnauzer show dogs - one whom was too interested in Roc so she's not allowed near him now - and a Dogue de Bordeaux), and an extensive taste testing regime (he LOVES rice & egg sandwiches, eats some meat occasionally, and has a go at a few veges).

We believe your "scientific method" of working out if he was a boy, or not ;) , has worked.. He is losing feathers, which are being replaced by brilliant yellow ones on his face/crest. He is talking alot, and also attempting word/sentances - some of which are "Hi Rocky", "Aren't you clever", and "good boy". He's almost whistling the Starwars(Darth Vader) tune as well. We both think this is amazing considering he is still only 19 weeks old!

He's all in all a gorgeous wee boy and we are very happy with him. I'd like to thank you again for letting us bring him into our life - we were remarking last night how empty the house would be without him here.

Just thought Id let you know that the wee guy is doing fine. He's a great bird and is so people friendly, he has obviously been well loved and raised before he came to us. He has formed an attachment to me at the moment which is very cool but not actually the plan. It's because I was chatting and playing with him this weekend and so now when I go to the cage or walk past him he gets so excited and jumps about and then if I open the door of the cage he just jumps straight for me. Its really neat. He sits with dad in the mornings and pinches cereal if he can. I think he is pretty happy as he is eating and playing and singing occasionally.
